A fresh start

I have been sadly lacking in motivation for quite awhile. I was doing well last spring, was so proud of my performance at the Warrior Dash, but then my back injury sidelined me for the summer, and lost my momentum-- stopped tracking, couldn't exercise, and came to a standstill in my weightloss. I did the Spartan Sprint without training at all and still managed to finish. During that race, I couldn't figure out why I had chosen (and paid) to do it, since it was so difficult, but by the time I got a hot shower at home, I realized that I need to do it again. I need to see what I can do when I am prepared and in shape. That realization started to bring me back from my funk, but didn't take me all the way.

I think tonight's WW meeting bridged the gap. Our topic tonight was Motivation-- getting it back and keeping it going. I weighed in at 138.2-- ugh! That's the highest I have been in a LONG time. As I drove home and contemplated what we discussed, I realized that I am currently without a goal and am mostly foundering. Another part of my problem is that I feel pretty good where I am, and it's SO much easier to eat what I want instead of tracking and being careful about what I eat, so I have little motivation to do anything differently.

So, what's my goal?

I want to be back to the weight and shape I was before I got pregnant with Ben. We have a picture of Phil and me at the Knoebels waterslide that I actually like what I look like in a bikini-- and that was when Abby was a year old. I know that I may never get back to EXACTLY that, but I think I can get pretty close. I was 122 at that point, which from today, is 16 pounds. I had Phil take a picture of me tonight so I have a visual starting point too. From tonight, there are 13 weeks until the new year. I would be happy if I can lose 10 pounds by the New Year and take care of the rest by Easter. I want to get a really fabulous dress for Phil and me to go out for dinner around the New Year.

What do I need to do to get there?

Track!!!
Exercise at least 3 days a week, including at least 1 interval run

How do I reward myself along the way?
$1/ day that I track, $1/ day that I exercise. When I earn $10, buy a new Kindle book. When I earn the next $15 ($25 total), manicure or pedicure. When I earn the next $15 ($40 total), massage. When I earn the next $15 ($55 total) new dress!
